Amityville Chamber Blog Post: Recap

On April 5th, PS Digital hosted a digital marketing workshop with the Amityville Chamber of Commerce. Many local businesses throughout the Amityville community attended to learn more about the importance on building your online marketing foundation.

The meeting began with PS Digital's Brian LeDonne asking the group to "take out your mobile device and to look at your business website."

Brian stressed the importance of making sure your business website is mobile friendly. Roughly 80% of people will be on their phones viewing your website. Having plenty of call-to-actions to help a potential customer take action is what will help drive new business. Buttons for phone numbers, get directions and even to text or message will make visitors feel at ease. Making sure the format of the website is correct on mobile is crucial to keeping potential and current customers engaged and interested in what you're promoting.

A mobile-friendly website is expected by consumers, and having one can help to establish your brand as modern and up-to-date. On the other hand, a website that is not mobile-friendly can damage your brand reputation and make you appear outdated and unprofessional.

Next Brian discussed the importance of online reviews.

"If you're going to get reviews, get them on Google first." -Brian LeDonne

Reviews are important for businesses. It's even more important to make it easy for your customers to write a good review.

A few ways to make it easy:

  1. Put a button on your website where a customer can click to leave a review.
  2. Share your Google Review link via a text message
  3. Place the Google Review link in your email signature

Positive reviews can help to differentiate a business from its competitors and attract more customers to their business.

Reviews can impact your search engine ranking. Online reviews can also help to increase a business's visibility and ranking in search engine results. Positive reviews can improve a business's search engine optimization (SEO) by increasing the number of relevant keywords and phrases associated with the business.

Lastly, Brian discussed the importance of Google Ads. Google Ads allows you to reach a large audience of people who are actively searching for products or services similar to yours.

"Google Ads is very effective as long as it's designed properly." - Brian LeDonne

A well-designed Google Ad campaign can improve the ad's performance, increase brand awareness, and provide a positive user experience. Even if the potential customer doesn't click the AD, having them being exposed to your business will increase your brand awareness.

Overall

Digital Marketing is an important aspect of your business. By making sure you have your foundation set in place, it will set your business up for success. Reviews, mobile optimization, and attending workshops are great ways to enhance your marketing and create brand awareness.
