Bellmore Chamber Blog Post: Workshop Recap

On June 21st, PS Digital hosted a digital marketing workshop with the Bellmore Chamber of Commerce. Many local businesses throughout the Bellmore community attended to learn more about the importance on building your online marketing foundation.

"It's all about the chamber members!" Brian said as he started presenting.

Our goal with the workshops we provide to local chambers and associations is to guide businesses with their digital marketing and increase your business.

Read more about the topics that were discussed during our presentation below.

Google Business Profile:

Brian stressed the importance of the Google Business Profile (formerly known as the Google My Business). Here Brian encouraged people from the meeting to search for their business online and see how their Google Business Profile appears.

"It's all about the key words!" exclaimed Debbie, owner of Dirty Dawg Grooming in Bellmore.

Debbie informed the group that she tweaks her Google Business Profile page all the time and generates a lot of business from the profile and how great it works for her business.

Dirty Dawg has been in business for 17 years in Bellmore welcoming all breeds with the motto ''Bring them in soiled and get them back spoiled''

Online Reviews:

"Not only do people read your reviews, but they read how you respond to reviews." - Brian LeDonne

Bellmore Automotive's owner, Jimmy informed the group that he generates a lot of new business from the reviews he receives on his Google Business Profile.

"When you ask for a review, make it as easy as possible." Ask the customer while they are in your store or send them a friendly text/email after. Don't forget to follow up with them as well!

Website:

"Any type of marketing you do all funnels to your website."

Your website is the nucleus of your business and marketing strategy. Any type of marketing you do funnels back to your website. By having an optimized website, it will be easier to generate leads.

Here, Brian spoke about making sure your website is mobile optimized and use-friendly. Your website should make it easy for a customer to contact you and have educational content on your business/product.

Overall

Digital Marketing is an important aspect of your business. By making sure you have your foundation set in place, it will set your business up for success. Reviews, mobile optimization, and attending workshops are great ways to enhance your marketing and create brand awareness.

September on Long Island: Celebrating National Days and Local Events September is a special time on Long Island, where the last whispers of summer blend with the early hints of fall. It’s a month filled with opportunities for fun, community, and celebration. As we transition into autumn, it’s the perfect time for businesses to engage with their audiences by tapping into both national days and local events. Here’s a look at some of September’s highlights and how your brand can make the most of them. 1. National Self-Care Awareness Month (September) With the hustle and bustle of life, especially as kids head back to school and the holiday season approaches, self-care is more important than ever. September is National Self-Care Awareness Month, a perfect opportunity for brands to promote wellness. Whether you’re in the beauty, wellness, or health industry, this is the time to share tips, products, and services that encourage your audience to take time for themselves. On Long Island, this could also tie into local spa days, wellness retreats, or even quiet walks through the beautiful parks like Caleb Smith State Park Preserve. You can create content around local self-care spots or partner with nearby wellness centers for promotions. 2. Long Island’s Fall Festivals September on Long Island is synonymous with vibrant fairs and festivals that celebrate the changing seasons. The Long Island Garlic Festival at Garden of Eve Organic Farm in Riverhead is a favorite, offering a unique mix of garlicky goodness, local vendors, and family fun. The Long Island Fair at Old Bethpage Village Restoration is another must-visit, showcasing the region’s agricultural heritage with traditional games, crafts, and delicious fair food. These events provide a fantastic opportunity for businesses to get involved. Whether it’s through sponsorships, setting up a booth, or simply creating content around these local traditions, connecting your brand to these beloved events can boost your visibility and community engagement. 3. National Grandparents Day (September 8) Grandparents are the pillars of many families, and this day is dedicated to honoring them. If your brand has a family-oriented focus, consider creating a campaign that celebrates grandparents. Whether it’s through heartwarming stories, discounts, or special events, there’s a lot you can do to show appreciation. Why not encourage your followers to take their grandparents to one of Long Island’s picturesque spots? A day out in places like the Bayard Cutting Arboretum or a stroll along the Port Jefferson Harbor would make for perfect content and a special experience for families. September is a month brimming with opportunities, both nationally and locally, to engage with your audience. From celebrating self-care to diving into Long Island’s rich cultural events, there’s no shortage of ways to connect with your community and make a lasting impact. Whether you’re running promotions, creating content, or participating in local events, September’s blend of national days and Long Island traditions offers the perfect canvas for creative marketing.
