PS Digital's Digital Marketing Insights at the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce

Introduction

On September 20th, PS Digital hosted a digital marketing session with the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce.  Many local businesses throughout the Franklin Square community attended to learn more about the importance of building a solid online marketing foundation for their business.

PS Digital's Brian LeDonne, discussed and answered questions about core digital marketing elements such as
how to claim your Google Business Profile, the importance of having an optimized website, especially on mobile, and how responding to reviews, both good and bad, are important for your company.

Claim Your Google Business Profile

One of the fundamental aspects discussed during the chamber meeting was the importance of claiming your Google Business Profile. This free profile is crucial for any business's online presence. This is often the first interaction customers notice when they search for your business. Here are some reasons why it's important:

  • Improved local SEO ranking
  • First impression
  • Google maps integration
  • Direct messaging

The Power of Mobile Optimization

With over 50% of web traffic coming from mobile users, having a mobile-friendly website ensures your content is easily readable and accessible. It reformats itself to fit smaller screens, displays larger navigation buttons and optimizes images according to screen size. With customers on the go, a mobile optimized website increases the likelihood of engaging your visitors by providing a seamless browsing experience.

A mobile-friendly site should load quickly. A slow loading site will discourage visitors from returning and may drive them to your competitors.

The Art of Responding to Reviews

Online reviews can make or break a business. This was a central topic of discussion at the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce meeting. PS Digital emphasized that it's not just about receiving positive reviews; it's about how you respond to all types of feedback.

Responding to positive reviews is an opportunity to express gratitude and strengthen customer relationships. Many attendees in the audience mentioned how they do read the feedback given by owners of the business page.

Acknowledging and appreciating the time and effort customers put into leaving a positive review goes a long way in building trust and loyalty.

On the flip side, negative reviews, while disheartening, provide an opportunity for growth. PS Digital highlighted the importance of addressing negative feedback promptly and professionally. When handled well, these situations can even turn dissatisfied customers into brand advocates.

Q&A and Networking

The presentation at Salvatore's of Elmont ended with opportunities for attendees to ask real-time questions that related to their own business, seek advice, and engage in meaningful discussions with the PS Digital team as well as other business owners. If we didn't get a chance to answer your question or you thought of a new question on the ride home, feel free to reach out and we'll be happy to help!

Our interactive digital marketing workshop sessions give attendees to actively participate allowing business owners to fully gain a deeper understanding of how digital marketing can improve their online presence.

September on Long Island: Celebrating National Days and Local Events September is a special time on Long Island, where the last whispers of summer blend with the early hints of fall. It’s a month filled with opportunities for fun, community, and celebration. As we transition into autumn, it’s the perfect time for businesses to engage with their audiences by tapping into both national days and local events. Here’s a look at some of September’s highlights and how your brand can make the most of them. 1. National Self-Care Awareness Month (September) With the hustle and bustle of life, especially as kids head back to school and the holiday season approaches, self-care is more important than ever. September is National Self-Care Awareness Month, a perfect opportunity for brands to promote wellness. Whether you’re in the beauty, wellness, or health industry, this is the time to share tips, products, and services that encourage your audience to take time for themselves. On Long Island, this could also tie into local spa days, wellness retreats, or even quiet walks through the beautiful parks like Caleb Smith State Park Preserve. You can create content around local self-care spots or partner with nearby wellness centers for promotions. 2. Long Island’s Fall Festivals September on Long Island is synonymous with vibrant fairs and festivals that celebrate the changing seasons. The Long Island Garlic Festival at Garden of Eve Organic Farm in Riverhead is a favorite, offering a unique mix of garlicky goodness, local vendors, and family fun. These events provide a fantastic opportunity for businesses to get involved. National Grandparents Day (September 8) Grandparents are the pillars of many families, and this day is dedicated to honoring them. If your brand has a family-oriented focus, consider creating a campaign that celebrates grandparents. Why not encourage your followers to take their grandparents to one of Long Island’s picturesque spots? A day out in places like the Bayard Cutting Arboretum or a stroll along the Port Jefferson Harbor would make for perfect content and a special experience for families.
