Insights from PS Digital's Networking Event with The Southampton Chamber of Commerce

Lauren Caravella • February 14, 2024

On Thursday, February 8th, the atmosphere at The Main Prospect in Southampton was buzzing with energy as PS Digital connected with the Southampton Chamber of Commerce. At this exclusive networking event, Brian LeDonne, informed attendees and members of the Southampton Chamber about the essential steps for building a robust online foundation.

Brian started off by emphasizing the importance of a convertible website. Drawing attention to the recently launched Southampton Chamber of Commerce's website, crafted by PS Digital, Brian underscored the significance of a website that speaks directly to its users. He emphasized the three pillars of an effective website: readability, compelling messaging, and lead generation capabilities.

"Your website should be more than just a digital placeholder," Brian asserted. "It should be a powerful tool that effortlessly guides visitors towards conversion."

One crucial aspect Brian highlighted was the consistent branding across all platforms. From the website to social media profiles, maintaining a cohesive brand identity reinforces trust and recognition among potential customers.

"Claim it, Optimize it, and manage it!" - Your Google Business Profile

Brian urged the audience, stressing the importance of this digital storefront. Using the Southampton Chamber's Google Business Profile as an example, Brian demonstrated the impact of having it all up-to-date and the reviews on establishing credibility and visibility.

Brian then encouraged the audience to share their business, so he could do a Google search for their Google Business Profile.

Sallie, the owner of Sallie Math Tutor, volunteered her business. We pulled up her Google Business Profile and provided her with some tips and personalized feedback on enhancing her Google Business Profile to stand out amidst the competition.

Mike, the owner of FD Building, a general contracting company in West Hampton, shared his business with the room.

His profile has a plethora of reviews accompanied by captivating pictures of his work and business. Impressed by the robust online presence, Brian told Mike that his company has a great online presence!

In response, Mike inquired about the possibility of linking his social media profiles, such as Facebook and Instagram, to his Google Business Profile. This is a new feature that allows for seamless integration for Facebook and Instagram on your Google Business Profile.

Reviews

"Replying to reviews is just as crucial as asking for them," Brian informed.

"A thoughtful response not only acknowledges the customer's feedback but also showcases your commitment to exceptional service."

Using Walker Tree Care's website as an example, Brian introduced PS Digital's innovative review widget product.

By seamlessly embedding Google Business Profile reviews onto their websites, businesses can amplify their credibility and foster trust with potential clients.

"It takes work to write a review!" exclaimed an audience member. "Can you give a reward to someone if they write a review? Like a gift card or a trip to Hawaii (lol yes someone asked this and then Brian was like I'll leave you a review right now)

You can offer incentives to leave a review. Perhaps a discount on the next service you need or a gift card to a local coffee shop. Put the blood, sweat, and tears into getting the review.

Google Local Service Ads (Pay-Per-Call)
Transitioning to the realm of Google Local Service Ads, we shed light on its efficacy for specific industries.

Emphasizing the pay-per-call model, we informed the audience how businesses only incur charges for received calls, with the added benefit of listening to and disputing calls that deviate from the established profile.

Notably, calls lasting under 30 seconds remain exempt from charges, offering a cost-effective advertising solution.

Google Ads Campaign
In our discussion on Google Ads, we underscored the importance of crafting a comprehensive ads campaign to drive traffic to your website.

Detail-oriented campaigns yield superior results, directing qualified leads to the website. Here is where having a highly convertible website comes into play.

A well-designed website enhances the effectiveness of the ads campaign, fostering seamless user experience and maximizing conversion rates.

Google Ads will place your company's business right in the "three pack" you see when you search for your business.

The presentation at Main Prospect ended with opportunities for attendees to ask real-time questions that related to their own business, seek advice, and engage in meaningful discussions with the PS Digital team as well as other business owners.

September is National Self-Care Awareness Month, a perfect opportunity for brands to promote wellness. Whether you’re in the beauty, wellness, or health industry, this is the time to share tips, products, and services that encourage your audience to take time for themselves. On Long Island, this could also tie into local spa days, wellness retreats, or even quiet walks through the beautiful parks like Caleb Smith State Park Preserve. You can create content around local self-care spots or partner with nearby wellness centers for promotions. 2. Long Island’s Fall Festivals September on Long Island is synonymous with vibrant fairs and festivals that celebrate the changing seasons.
